After the weekend with the 90th Birthday of Anouk's Grandma at the Restaurant of Gerhard & Rosmarie Georg picked me up to drive to Chamonix on Sunday night. During the last days have been heavy rain and so the direct pass to Chamonix have been closed for Sunday and we had to drive all the way around the Lac Lemon. We finally arrived around midnight in our nice and tiny auberge On the first day we skied at Les Grands Montes and found some nice down hills but the snow was not really good.
On the second day we went up the Aguille de Midi and enjoyed a lovely ride dow the Vallee Blance - the longes down hill at the alps. Later on the day we drove towards Zermantt with a break at Domaine de Balme at this great and sunny day. Short after 8 PM we arrived at the Hostal in Zermatt and have been to late for the dinner. We got our room with a sick and a funny guy and on the next day our goal have been to stay on night at the foot of the Breithorn at the Plateau Rosa in the Refugio Testa Griga and go on the next day over the Schwarztor to the new Monte Rosa hut but the wetter went really bad and we decided to take the cable car up the Kleine Matterhorn and do a short ski tour up to the Breithorn what we finally did.
Up on the Breithorn the weather went bad an we couldn't see the hand in front of our face anymore and we had to follow our prints in the snow back to the Refugio Testa Griga. At the Refugio we finally decided to go back home the same day because the weather forecast have so bad that it didn't make any sense to go further to the Monte Rosa hut.
Georg brought me back to the Restaurant Breitfeld but Rosmarie & Gerhard had their day off and I had to wait until 1 AM to get the keys from my car back. Finally around 3:30 AM I arrived save back home in Stuttgart.
