Over the weekend July 15./16. I've been together with a group of 9 people from the DAV Munich - Oberland at the Essener - Rostocker Hütte and we climbed the summit of the Rostocker Eck with 2.749m on Saturday after we did the hike up to the hut from the parking down in the valley. It was a great and really long day, because we met each other at 5:30 am in Schwabing. On the way down from the summit we did some practice - how to walk and be save on a snow field and how to cross a glacier creek without getting frozen :-)

On Sunday, we started our tour to the Grossen Geiger at 6:00 am in the morning. We had to walk trough the valley almost one hour and than we had to climb up on a large snow field and later over the glacier up to the summit. Unfortunately, the way on the cliff to the summit was not possible to go anymore. Finally, Carolin, Gerald, Alex and I took an other way and have been able to make the summit of the Grosser Geiger 3.350m. The way back to the group was quite complicated, because the gap between the mountain and the glacier was to big to jump so we had to find a different was over the rocks to get back to the group.

On the way back to the valley we slided down the snowfields and had a short break at hut with a really yummy strudel :-)
