After we arrived with the night bus from La Paz around 7am in the morning at Uyuni, Raul from the Andes Salt Expeditions just picked us up from the bus station and told us everything we had to do to get ready for our Salar de Uyuni expedition. We had to pay the trip with 115 $US and make our immigration papers ready to go further to San Pedro de Atacama at the local office, opening at 9am.

After all things have been done and a small breakfast we had to wait until our home of the next 3 days (Landcruser Jeep) arrived with Obert our great guide and driver and off corse Jacqueline our chef. After we fixed all our luggage to the roof of the car we started to the train cemetery close to Uyuni and took some nice photos there. Afterwards we headed to the Salar took some funny photos with the distance and enjoyed the first lunch at a funny salt hotel. Further on we drove to the Isla Pescado with its amazing huge cactus and the breathtaking views over the salar. Finally we stayed over night at a salt hotel as well.

The next day we drove a lot through an amazing mountain landscape with an altitude of up to 5.200m and saw a lot of volcanos and funny stone formations like the Salvadore Dali Vally and the Dali rocks. The night we stayed at the bloody cold Lode close to the Laguna Verde with probably -20 degrees Celsius.

On the final day we had to get up at 4:30am to visit the sunrise at the volcanic zone with its great geyser basin. I can tell, it was bloody cold this morning and I also got some trouble with my stomach. After the geysers we drove to the Laguna Verde with its nice mirror views to the Volcano Licancabur. From there we drove straight to the border to Chile where we had to say good bye to the other people from the tour and had to wait almost 3 hours before we got a ride to San Pedro de Atacama at 12:30pm. At the entrance to S. Pedro we had to show all our luggage and this procedure took almost an hour again that we finally arrived at S. Pedro around 3pm this day and we have been really tired.

Our guides Obert, Pedro and Jacqueline the chef!
