Petrus kept an eye on us during this fantastic 4 days around the Ortler alps on the Zufallhütte. From Wednesday until Sunday we got a beautiful autumn weather - exactly right for some unbelievable alpine tours. After we arrived at the Zufallhütte we went for a hike up the home mountain of the hut to get an idea of the current conditions, which have been great. Only the higher tours haven't been possible because of some snowfall some days ago.

For the second day we decided to go up to the Madritschjoch and the Hinterer Schöntaufspitz - 3.325 m. The hike was nice and cold but on the Schöntaufspitz we had a wonderful view to the Ortler and the Königsspitze.

On the 3rd day we climbed over the Hohenferner the Cima Marmotta with 3.326 m. During this tour we walked on the rope because of some big crevasses on the glacier and from the summit we enjoyed again a fantastic view around the area and to the Brenta mountains as well. The last big tour was the best.

On Saturday we hiked up to the Butzenspitze - 3.300 m and from there we climbed over the edge of the Eisseespitze - 3.230 m up to the summit with some difficulties because of the snow. But finally we all did it and have been really happy on the top and enjoyed a breathtaking view to the Cevedale and the Königsspitze. All together the tour has been just great and maybe next year we will go for some new challenges together.

Just an additional sentence: The Zufallhütte was great, too! We really enjoyed the yummy and tasty food on the hut, especially the Apfelstrudel (apple strudel) and the Kaiserschmarn :-)
