On Monday morning at 7am we left Cusco to our next stop in Puno at the Titicaca Lake. We arranged a bit expensive bus ride but it was nice and we have been able to stop on the way at 3 interesting places. The first stop was in Andahuaylillas at a lovely old church, the second one at Raqchi with old Inka buildings for agraculturing and finally at Pukara, a small little town where we have been able to see a festival around the church and where we visited the local museum with pices from the oldest culture in Peru. On the way to Pukara we crossed the pass La Raya with 4.335m.

On Tuesday the first day in Puno we joined a trip to Sillustani apprx. 50 KM away from Puno. At this place are many chullpas at the Lake Umayo from the period before the Inkas and the place itself is realy picturesome itself.

On Wednesday we joined another tour to the Isla Taquile and the flowting islands from the Uros. This tour has been a little bit touristry but the Uros islands have been amazing and it was a strange feeling to walk on them because they are just swimming on the lake and at every step you will sink a little bit. From this islands we drove further on with the lazy boat to the Isla Taquile and there we have been able to see a local touristry dance and before we got stock at the group we disappeared and walked through the tiny town ourselves and found some old man knitting new hats.
