Würzburg Marathon 2008 has been a great event. We got a lovely weather with a clear blue sky and temperatures between 15 to 22 degrees. After we arrived in Würzburg we went strait to the office tent to get our start numbers then we changed and went to the start at 10 o'clock. The first half of the race was quite easy and it has been really nice to run through the old town of Würzburg, the small lanes and streets and of course - the crowd has been phenomenal and has made it easy to go forward all the time. Georg went for the half-marathon and I decided to go for the whole distance with approx. 1000 more runners. The second part was quite hard and my mussels started to cramp from KM 30 on. But after some walking parts the cramps got better and as I have been finally back in the old town with all the people there which put me forward I finally reached the finish line with 4:27:15.
